Chiropractic and Rehabilitative Services

At Jacksonville Chiropractic and Massage Clinic, we are dedicated to your health and overall well-being. We supplement chiropractic care with traditional physiotherapeutic therapies. Our chiropractic manipulations and adjustments work together with strength-training exercise, deep tissue massage, traction, and other standard physical therapy techniques. We also offer dietary, nutritional, and lifestyle counseling.

Why Chiropractic?

Chiropractic focuses on musculoskeletal and nervous system disorders and the effects of these problems on a person’s health. Most often, chiropractic care is used to treat neuromusculoskeletal concerns, including back, neck, and joint pain, as well as chronic headaches.
Doctors of Chiropractic, also referred to as chiropractic physicians or chiropractors, use a drug-free and hands-on health care approach. This system applies to patient examinations, diagnoses, and treatments.
Chiropractors also have broad diagnostic skills and are trained to suggest therapeutic and rehabilitative exercises. In addition, chiropractic physicians can make nutritional, dietary, and lifestyle recommendations.

Diversified Adjustment Technique

This is the most common form of chiropractic adjustment. To determine how a specific area will be treated, an exam is performed. The assessment focuses on the movement of the spinal joints.
Once the problem area is identified, a manual thrust will be applied to the spine. This force may produce a “pop” that is similar to the sound of cracking knuckles.
The sound is produced when gas pressure is released from the joint. Generally, patients feel relief after it occurs.

Rehabilitation and Stretching

To facilitate injury recovery, various devices can be used. These tools include balance balls, hand weights, elastic tubing and bands, and wobble boards. To help patients get ready to go back to the gym, home instructions are provided, as well as guides on proper exercise forms.

Kinesio Taping

During this procedure, an elastic tape is applied to the skin over an injured area. Many athletes during the Summer Olympics used this method to treat body pain.
The tape lifts the skin, creating the space needed to increase blood flow and movement of lymphatic fluids. The treatment lessens the pressure applied to the body’s pain receptors, stimulates mechanoreceptors, and helps improve joint function.

Therapeutic Massage Services

For many patients, massage can be a beneficial addition to traditional chiropractic care. If you are suffering from recurring medical conditions, headaches, body pain, or insomnia, we can help. Among many other benefits, massage has been shown to reduce stress, pain, muscle soreness, and improve circulation, immune function, and overall energy.
